Ulster Scots Flagship School
On Thursday 25th March 2021 Gary Blair from the Ulster Scots Agency granted Ulster Scots Flagship School Status to Upper Ballyboley Primary School.
Since 2015 Upper Ballyboley has worked in partnership with the Ulster Scots Agency to complete the Ulster Scots School Flagship Award. Ballyboley is the 63rd school to be awarded Flagship status.
The children of Upper Ballyboley Primary School have taken part in a range of activities including Lambeg drum lessons, bag pipe lessons, highland dancing and a re-enactment of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Furthermore, the whole school visited the Ulster American Folk Park and met the children from Portlean National school in Donegal which they had formed a pen pal relationship with.
